Tar Heels hold on at Tigers

North Carolina earned an 81-79 victory Saturday night at Clemson despite head coach Roy Williams collapsing during the contest and being unable to return. The Tar Heels (24-5, 14-2 ACC) led 39-35 at halftime and held on after the break. North Carolina shot 26-of-63 from the floor, 13-of-33 from 3-point distance plus 16-of-24 at the free throw line. Coby White paced the Tar Heels with 28 points on 9-of-16 shooting including 6-of-11 from 3-point range plus 4-of-6 at the free throw line. He also tallied six rebounds, five assists and two steals. Cameron Johnson had 19 points, three assists and two rebounds. Luke Maye added 13 points, 10 boards and three assists.

Eagles fall at Yellow Jackets

Boston College lost by a count of 81-78 in overtime Sunday night at Georgia Tech to drop to 14-14 overall and 5-11 in the ACC. The Eagles outscored the Yellow Jackets 37-30 in the second half, but were outscored 11-8 in OT. Boston College shot 32-of-66 from the floor, 3-of-17 from 3-point range plus 11-of-15 at the free throw line. Nik Popovic paced the Eagles with 24 points on 10-of-15 shooting including 4-of-5 from the free throw line. He also notched nine rebounds, three assists and three steals. Jordan Chatman accounted for 15 points, three boards and two assists. Ky Bowman added 13 points, six boards, four assists and two blocked shots.
