The ninth-ranked Michigan State Spartans blew a halftime lead on the road over the weekend and dropped three spots in the rankings. Can MSU rebound at home tonight with a victory over the Nebraska Cornhuskers?

Cornhuskers crushed at U-M
Nebraska lost by a count of 82-53 Thursday night at Michigan to fall to 15-14 overall and 5-13 in the Big Ten Conference. The Cornhuskers trailed 43-21 at halftime on their way to the lopsided defeat. Nebraska shot 23-of-67 from the floor, 2-of-12 from 3-point distance plus 5-of-9 at the free throw line. Nana Akenten paced the Cornhuskers with 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting including 1-of-2 from 3-point range. He also pulled down two rebounds. Glynn Watson Jr. added 10 points along with four boards and two assists.
Spartans stumble in second half
Michigan State lost 63-62 Saturday afternoon at Indiana to drop to 23-6 overall and 14-4 in the Big Ten. The Spartans led 35-28 at halftime before being outscored 35-27 after the break. Michigan State shot 26-of-48 from the field, 6-of-15 from 3-point distance plus 4-of-5 at the free throw line. Cassius Winston paced the Spartans with 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting including 1-of-1 from 3-point distance plus 3-of-4 at the free throw line. He also notched 11 assists and five rebounds. College Basketball Betting Trends
The Cornhuskers are 2-10 ATS in their last 12 games overall. Nebraska is 0-5 ATS in its last five road games.
The Spartans are 7-2 ATS in their last nine home games. Michigan State is 19-7 ATS in its last 26 games overall.
Michigan State usually rebounds with a focused performance following a defeat, but with rival Michigan on deck there is danger of looking ahead here. Nebraska played the Spartans tough in a 70-64 loss back on January 17 in Lincoln, so I think it can give another inspired performance here. I certainly expect MSU to win, but likely will save the better performance for Saturday when it has a chance to sweep the Wolverines.
