Rhode Island vs. Davidson Prediction

NCAA Predictions: Will Rhode Island upset Davidson? 3/2/18

Will No. 17 Rhode Island bounce back from a bad loss when it hits the road to face Davidson on Friday, March 2, 2018? Here’s our prediction for the game.

843 Rhode Island at 844 Davidson, 8PM ET (CBS Sports Network)

According to oddsmakers at YouWager, Davidson is listed as the small favorite at home, as it is getting odds of -1 point against Rhode Island. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 144.5 points. Tonight’s game takes place from John M. Belk Arena in Davidson, North Carolina and will air live on the CBS Sports Network.

Rhode Island is coming off an embarrassing 78-48 loss at home to St. Joseph’s earlier this week. The Rams have lost two of their last four while failing to cover in three of their last four. URI is 23-5 overall, 15-2 in the A-10 and 15-10-1 against the spread. The Rams are averaging 76.9 points per game on offense this season while allowing just 67.8 per game on defense. Jared Terrell has been leading Rhode Island this season with 17.6 points per game while E.C. Matthews is adding 13.2 points per contest.

Davidson is coming off a 117-113 OT loss at St. Bonaventure, which snapped a four-game win streak. The Wildcats are now 17-11 overall, 12-5 in the Atlantic-10 and 14-12-1 against the spread. Davidson is putting up 77.3 points per game on offense this season while allowing 68.4 per game on defense. Peyton Aldridge is averaging 21.4 points and 7.7 rebounds per game to lead Davidson while Kellan Grady is adding 17.9 points per contest.

Bet on CBB for Friday, March 2, 2018

Rhode Island has won four straight meetings with Davidson, covering in three of the four wins. That includes a 72-59 win at home over Davidson back on Feb. 9. The Rams have looked shaky lately, but this is still a team that has posted 23 wins this season. Coming off such a poor showing at home, that could be the shock to the system that the team needs right now. Prior to that loss, I am sure the Rams would have been a favorite in this game. I still believe they win this game more than they would lose and I will take them to come out angry and win on the road. The public betting is backing Rhode Island as well.
