LAS VEGAS, NV (TheSpread) – The 2015 Horizon League Tournament tips off action on Tuesday night. Here is a look at the odds to win this event.
The Horizon League Tournament is an 8-team tournament in a staggered format. There are two opening round games tonight at campus sites. The winners then advance to Friday where the third and fourth seed await. From there, two semifinalists await on Saturday and the championship game will be on Tuesday. After today’s opening round, the tournament will be conducted from Valparaiso.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Valparaiso is the favorite to emerge as the winner, as it has odds of -135 to win. Green Bay is next with odds of +150 while Cleveland State has odds of +1000 to win.
Valparaiso is the top seed and will host the tournament. It went 26-5 overall this season and 13-3 in the Horizon League. Valpo has an automatic bye into the semifinals. Valpo has won this tournament one time, doing so in 2013.
Green Bay is the No. 2 seed in the tournament. It went 23-7 on the season and 12-4 in conference play. It also has a bye into the semifinals. Green Bay has won this tournament one time, doing so in 1995.
Cleveland State is the No. 4 seed. It went 17-13 on the season and 11-5 in conference play. It has a bye into the quarterfinal round. Cleveland State has won this tournament one time, doing so in 2009.
