Indiana vs. Purdue Pick
No. 16 Purdue looks to lock up at least a share of the Big Ten title tonight when it hosts Indiana at 7PM ET. Can the Boilermakers win by double figures?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Purdue is the favorite tonight, as the Boilermakers are getting odds of -10.5 points against the Hoosiers. The over/under total for the game is listed at 150 points. Purdue won the first meeting, 69-64, at Indiana back on Feb. 9. The Boilermakers have won four of the last five in this series and have covered the spread in all five games.

Purdue is coming off an 82-70 loss at Michigan to fall to 23-6 on the season and 12-4 in the Big Ten. The Boilermakers are still a game up on the field in the Big Ten entering the final two games of the regular season. Purdue is 16-9-1 against the spread on the season, including 10-3 ATS at home. The Boilermakers average 80.7 points per game on offense while allowing just 66.7. At home, they lock up even harder on defense and give up just 61.4 points per contest. Caleb Swanigan has been one of the best in the nation this year, averaging 18.6 points and 12.6 rebounds per game. Isaac Haas adds 13.2 points and 5.4 rebounds per game.
Indiana snapped a five-game losing streak with a 63-62 win at home over Northwestern this weekend. The Hoosiers are now 16-13 overall and just 6-10 in the Big Ten. They also sit at 12-14-1 against the spread on the season, but just 3-7-1 ATS on the road. IU is averaging 80.1 points per game on offense and allowing 72.2 on defense. However, they put up just 69.6 on offense on the road while allowing 76.9 on defense. James Blackmon Jr. is averaging 16.9 points per game to lead the team while Robert Johnson and Thomas Bryant each add 13 points per game.
There’s little for me to see to think Indiana is going to compete tonight. The Hoosiers have nobody that can contain Swanigan. Purdue has the ability to score at a pace that Indiana won’t be able to keep up with. Purdue has an average of +20 in scoring differential at home and that includes games against good Big Ten teams. Indiana is not a good Big Ten team.
