Villanova to run it up vs. Marquette?
Following a loss earlier in the week, will No. 1 Villanova look to run over Marquette when the two meet today at 2PM ET on FOX?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Villanova is favored on the road today, as the Wildcats are getting odds of -8.5 points against Marquette. The over/under total for this game has been set at 140.5 points.
Marquette is 18-10 on the season, 7-8 in the Big East, 11-6 at home and 12-15 against the spread. Villanova is 24-4 overall, 13-2 in the Big East, 9-2 on the road and 13-13-1 against the spread. Villanova has won seven straight in this series, going 6-1 against the spread in those seven games.
Who does the public like in this game?
Villanova is coming off a 90-83 loss at Xavier this week. The Wildcats are 3-0 straight up after a loss this season and 2-1 against the spread in those games. The only failed cover was a 15-point win over St. John’s. Marquette has actually won two straight and covered in four of its last five, but that is only helping keep the spread lower than it should be. Marquette comes into today just 4-12 ATS at home this season. Villanova already holds an 83-68 win over the Eagles this season, and with the Wildcats coming off a loss, they will be eager to take out their frustrations on a lesser opponent.
