Vandy is hot but will UK be too much?
No. 16 Kentucky can inch closer to wrapping up back-to-back outright SEC regular-season titles when it visits Vanderbilt today at 4:00PM ET.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book RealBet.eu, the Wildcats are 1.5-point favorites over the Commodores after the line opened at Kentucky -1.5. As for the total, the number opened at 144 and that's where it currently sits.
Vanderbilt hasn't conceded anything yet and won't today versus Kentucky. The Commodores have won four of their last five games as junior center Damian Jones has put together excellent back-to-back games. He's produced a career high in rebounds and points in two victories that helped breathe some fire into Vandy's hopes of making it to the NCAA tournament.
That said, there's just not enough value in Vanderbilt with the line sitting below 2 points. The Commodores are just 7-10 against the spread this season against teams with a winning record and their winless at the betting window at 0-4 after scoring 80 points or more in two straight games.
Kentucky, meanwhile, is 11-5 against the number versus winning teams and got Alex Poythress back from a three-week absence on Tuesday. Poythress, who missed five games with a right knee injury, came off the bench to score 14 points on 5-of-6 shooting in 17 minutes versus Alabama.
