Arizona vs. Utah Prediction
No. 9 Arizona visits No. 22 Utah today at 2:00PM ET in a game where the winner will claim sole possession of second place in the Pac-12 standings.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Utes are now 3.5-point favorites over the Wildcats after the line opened at Utah -3. As for the total, the number has dropped down a half point from 144.5 to 144.
This matchup lost some of its luster when Arizona fell to Colorado on Wednesday night but this game is still crucial for the Wildcats, who need a victory with the lack of elite wins on their resume. Granted, Arizona won't miss the NCAA tournament but it has just two top 50 wins this season and could find itself ranked lower than some expect.
All that will stick out in some bettor's minds is how the Utes thrashed Arizona State 81-46 on Thursday night while the Wildcats were dumped by Colorado 75-72 as a 5.5-point road favorite on Wednesday. But Utah is 0-3 against the spread when playing off one or fewer days of rest this season while Arizona is an impressive 12-4 against the number after winning four or five its last six games.
Led by forward Ryan Anderson and guards Allonzo Trier and Gabe York, this is still a dangerous Arizona team that is catching 3.5 points. The loss to Colorado was unfortunate but the Wildcats should be able to stay within a basket of the Utes today, if not win outright.
