Red Storm unable to hang with Pirates

St. John's fell by a score of 81-65 score Sunday at Seton Hall to drop to 14-13 overall and 3-11 in the Big East Conference. The Red Storm trailed 36-22 at halftime and were unable to bounce back. L.J. Figueroa paced St. John's with 19 points on 6-of-17 shooting including 4-of-9 from 3-point distance plus 3-of-3 at the free throw line. He also pulled down four rebounds. Julian Champagnie contributed 14 points, 11 boards and two assists. Rasheem Dunn added 11 points, five caroms, three assists and two steals.

Wildcats win fourth straight

Villanova secured a 64-55 win Saturday at Xavier to improve to 21-6 overall and 10-6 in the Big East. The Wildats led 30-21 at halftime on their way to the win. Saddiq Bey led Villanova with 22 points on 8-of-17 shooting including 4-of-9 from 3-point range plus 2-of-2 at the charity stripe. He also recorded three rebounds and two steals. College Basketball Betting Trends

St. John's

The underdog is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings. The Red Storm are 1-5 ATS in their last six games.

The Wildcats are 3-2 ATS in their last five games. The under has hit in four of the last five Villanova games.

Villanova is playing solid basketball right now and blasted St. John's by 20 on the road last month, but spreads like this are certainly not slam dunks. The Red Storm have been inconsistent, but they have had some bright moments lately like rolling past Providence and taking Xavier to the wire before faltering in the closing minutes. I'm taking the points here as the Wildcats are due for a subpar performance and have bigger fish to fry moving forward. Could be a trap.
