Hawkeyes down Hoosiers in overtime
Iowa earned a 76-70 home overtime victory over Indiana Friday night to improve to 21-6 overall and 10-6 in the Big Ten Conference. The Hawkeyes shot 26-of-62 from the floor, 7-of-25 from 3-point distance plus 17-of-25 at the free throw line. Iowa went into halftime tied 28-28 and ended regulation even at 63-63 before outscoring the Hoosiers 13-7 in the extra session. Tyler Cook paced the Hawkeyes with 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting including 4-of-9 at the free throw line. He also notched eight rebounds and two assists. Jordan Bohannon contributed 17 points, three boards and three assists. Luka Garza added 16 points, nine caroms and two assists.
Buckeyes fall short at Terrapins
Ohio State lost by a count of 72-62 Saturday at Maryland to drop to 17-10 overall and 7-9 in the conference. The Buckeyes shot 23-of-63 from the floor, 11-of-33 from 3-point range plus 5-of-7 at the free throw line. Duane Washington Jr. paced OSU with 15 points off the bench on 5-of-12 shooting including 1-of-6 from 3-point range plus 4-of-4 at the free throw line. He also tallied five rebounds and four assists. Andre Wesson contributed 13 points, four assists and two rebounds. Keyshawn Woods added 10 points, four steals, three assists and two rebounds. The Buckeyes trailed 33-28 at halftime and were unable to recover.
