Terrapins win ninth straight

Maryland earned a 76-67 home win Tuesday night over Northwestern to improve to 22-4 overall and 12-3 in conference action. The Terrapins led 37-25 at halftime en route to the triumph. Jalen Smith paced Maryland with 22 points on 8-of-13 shooting including 1-of-5 from 3-point distance plus 5-of-5 at the free throw line. He also racked up 19 rebounds, two steals and two blocked shots. Anthony Cowan Jr. tallied 19 points, five assists and two boards. Darryl Morsell tallied 13 points, seven caroms and seven assists. Donta Scott added 12 points and two rebounds.

Buckeyes unable to hang on road

Ohio State fell by an 85-76 score at Iowa Thursday night to drop to 17-9 overall and 7-8 in the Big Ten. The Buckeyes trailed 46-35 at halftime and were unable to recover. E.J. Liddell led OSU with 17 points off the bench on 5-of-11 shooting plus 7-of-9 at the charity stripe. He also registered eight rebounds and two blocked shots. Duane Washington Jr. accounted for 15 points and five boards as a reserve. C.J. Walker tallied 11 points, seven assists, three caroms and two steals. Kaleb Wesson added 10 points, seven rebounds, three dimes and two steals.

The Terrapins are 3-0-1 ATS in their last four games as an underdog. Maryland is 3-8-1 ATS in its last 12 Sunday games. 

Ohio State

The Buckeyes are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 home games. The favorite is 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings.

Prediction:

Maryland defeated Ohio State 67-55 at home last month, but I like the revenge factor for a Buckeyes squad that has only lost twice on its court this season. Ohio State is solid, if not spectacular on both ends of the court, and should be able to take advantage of a Terrapins squad that can have some offensive lapses. I don't see OSU having a late collapse like Michigan State did against the Terrapins last week. Bet the Buckeyes here.
