Bulldogs fall on buzzer-beater

Butler lost 74-72 on a shot as time expired Wednesday night at Seton Hall to drop to 19-8 overall and 7-7 in conference action. The Bulldogs were outscored 46-38 in the second half after leading by six at the break. Kamar Baldwin led Butler with 20 points on 7-of-13 shooting including 1-of-5 from 3-point distance plus 5-of-6 at the free throw line. He also registered six assists, three rebounds and two steals. Bryce Golden accounted for 17 points and two boards. Aaron Thompson contributed 12 points, three dimes and two steals. Sean McDermott added 11 points and six rebounds. 

Bluejays win fourth straight

Creighton earned a 73-65 victory Tuesday night at Marquette to improve to 21-6 overall and 10-4 in the Big East. The Bluejays led 32-22 at halftime and continued to keep control after the break. Ty-Shon Alexander paced Creighton with 22 points on 9-of-21 shooting including 4-of-11 from 3-point range. He also recorded five rebounds and four assists. Marcus Zegarowski tallied 17 points, five boards and three dimes. Damien Jefferson added 11 points, eight caroms and two assists.

Prediction:

The Bluejays have been in fantastic form lately and have one of the nation's most efficient offenses, but Butler was a team they struggled with last month in a 73-57 defeat. The Bulldogs are a bit desperate to get some positive momentum going and are salty from the buzzer-beater heartbreaker earlier this week. Considering Butler has already shown the ability to have Creighton's number, I'm taking the points for this showdown today.
