Ducks stumble at Sun Devils

Oregon fell by a score of 77-72 Thursday night at Arizona State to drop to 20-7 overall and 9-5 in conference play. The Ducks trailed 34-23 at halftime and were unable to recover. Will Richardson helped pace Oregon with 18 points on 5-of-14 shooting including 2-of-6 from 3-point distance plus 6-of-7 at the free throw line. He also contributed six rebounds and two assists. Payton Pritchard recorded 18 points and three boards. Chris Duarte added 10 points, four caroms, four steals, three assists and three blocked shots.

Wildcats race past Beavers

Arizona rolled to an 89-63 home win Thursday night over Oregon State to improve to 19-7 overall and 9-4 in conference action. The Wildcats outscored the Beavers 49-33 in the second half to pull away. Josh Green led Arizona with 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting including 2-of-3 from 3-point range plus 2-of-2 at the charity stripe. He also notched six assists, four rebounds and four steals. Nico Mannion registered 16 points, six dimes and four boards. Max Hazzard tallied 15 points and four caroms off the bench. Zeke Nnaji added 13 points and seven rebounds.

College Basketball Betting Trends

The Ducks are 5-1 ATS in their last six games as an underdog. Oregon is 26-12 ATS in its last 38 games overall.

The Wildcats are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games as a favorite. Arizona is 8-19-1 ATS in its last 28 Saturday games.

The Wildcats have won their last three games by at least nine points, including two on the road. But the Ducks represent a step up in competition. Even so, Oregon has struggled on the road with three straight losses including two by double digits. I'd rather fade the Ducks than hope they magically figure it out again only two days after stumbling at a Sun Devils squad that is not as talented as what lies in the way tonight
