Hoosiers drop fourth straight
Indiana fell 48-46 at home Tuesday night as a tip-in by the visitors with 3.2 seconds remaining was the deciding factor. The Hoosiers (13-13, 4-11 Big Ten Conference) were outscored 28-26 in the second half of the defeat. Indiana shot 15-of-55 from the floor, 5-of-25 on 3-pointers and 11-of-18 at the free throw line. Romeo Langford was the lone Hoosiers player in double figures for scoring as he he finished with 14 points on 2-of-6 shooting including 1-of-3 from 3-point range plus 9-of-10 at the free throw line. He also contributed nine rebounds and two assists.
Hawkeyes fall on late putback
A putback with 7.8 seconds remaining Tuesday night sent Iowa to a 66-65 home loss against Maryland. The Hawkeyes (20-6, 9-6) outscored the Terrapins 42-39 in the second half, but it wasn’t quite enough. Iowa shot 19-of-58 from the floor, 8-of-26 on 3-point attempts and 19-of-24 at the free throw line. Jordan Bohannon led the Hawkeyes with 14 points on 2-of-11 shooting including 2-of-7 from 3-point distance plus 8-of-9 at the free throw line. He also registered four assists and three rebounds. Isaiah Moss contributed 12 points and 10 boards.
College Basketball Betting Trends
Indiana
The Hoosiers are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games overall. The underdog is 8-3 ATS in the last 11 meetings.
Iowa
The Hawkeyes are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 home games versus Indiana. Iowa is 4-1 ATS in its last five Friday games.
Prediction:
It’s hard to trust a Hawkeyes team that has seen their last three games decided by a combined four points. Despite their inconsistency, Indiana is more talented than two of the last three teams Iowa has played. And it was only February 7 when the Hoosiers lost 77-72 at Iowa. Indiana was strong defensively against Purdue and as long as it shoots better, it should fare well here against an Iowa team that has been unable to put opponents away lately.
