Wisconsin vs. Northwestern Prediction
What's the best betting strategy for tonight's Big Ten matchup between Wisconsin and Northwestern at 7:00 p.m. ET?
Who Oddsmakers Like: Northwestern. According to oddsmakers from online sports book YouWager, the Wildcats are now 3.5-point home favorites to beat the Badgers, who opened as 4-point road underdogs. The total, meanwhile, sits at 124.5 points.
Who Public Bettors Like: Northwestern. As of Thursday morning, 56% of betting tickets are on the Wildcats to cover the spread, so it's interesting that the line has moved down. There's some reverse line movement in play, especially when you consider that Wisconsin opened at +5.5 at some sports books.
Injury to Watch
Wisconsin has a couple of depth pieces out but Northwestern could be without starting guard Bryant McIntosh, who is questionable with a shoulder injury.
I'll either wait until the line moves back up to 4 or bet it there myself, but I love Wisconsin in this matchup. These two teams are heading in opposite directions. While the Badgers have won three of their last four and head to Evanston having won back-to-back games, the Wildcats enter play on a season-worst four-game losing streak. Making things even more problematic for Northwestern is the fact that the Wildcats have blown a double-digit lead in three straight games. Following their 71-64 loss to Maryland on Monday night, Chris Collins noted that his team was suffering from "mental fatigue." Yeah, give me those points.
