Gators roll at Crimson Tide
Florida secured a 71-53 road win at Alabama Saturday to improve to 14-11 overall and 6-6 in the SEC. Florida led 35-26 at halftime and continued to roll after the break. Florida shot 27-of-50 from the floor, 6-of-19 from 3-point range and 11-of-14 from the free throw line. Andrew Nembhard paced the Gators with 21 points on 9-of-9 shooting including 2-of-2 from 3-point range plus 1-of-1 at the free throw line. He also contributed two rebounds and two assists. Keyontae Johnson tallied 14 points and 13 boards. KeVaughn Allen added 13 points, four caroms and three assists.
Tigers secure win at Bulldogs
Louisiana State earned an 83-79 victory at Georgia Saturday night to move to 21-4 overall and 11-1 in conference play on the season. The Tigers led 41-37 at halftime on its way to the win. Louisiana State shot 30-of-54 from the field, 5-of-13 from 3-point range and 18-of-23 from the free throw line. Tremont Waters paced the Tigers with 20 points on 8-of-14 shooting including 2-of-6 from 3-point range plus 2-of-2 at the charity stripe. He also registered five assists and two steals. Ja'vonte Smart tallied 19 points in 30 minutes off the bench. Naz Reid added 13 points and six rebounds.
College Basketball Betting Trends
The Gators are 1-6 ATS in their last seven SEC games. Florida is 3-8 ATS in its last 11 games following an ATS win.
The Tigers are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 SEC games. LSU is 5-0 ATS in its last five games following an ATS loss.
The Tigers didn't play their best at Georgia, but were strong in the previous three contests against better competition including a thrilling win over Kentucky. Louisiana State's strong offensive will go against an elite Florida defense here, but I don't think the Gators can keep up offensively here. Look for the hosts to solve the tough D as the game progresses and gradually pull away to cover the spread here.
