According to oddsmakers from online sports book Realbet.eu, the Cardinals are currently 7-point home favorites over the Blue Devils for today’s matchup on ESPN. The total, meanwhile, is sitting at 144 points.
Duke is 6-4 over its last 10 games but just 4-6 against the spread over that same span. The Blue Devils have been a good bet on the road this year, covering in five of their seven lined games but they’re just 12-12 ATS overall.
Louisville has won seven of its last 10 games but is just .500 against the spread at 5-5 over that span. The Cardinals have been profitable at home, going 9-4 against the number in their 13 lined games at the KFC Yum! Center.
Prediction
Mike Krzyzewski’s squad won’t have Matt Jones for today’s game after he sprained his ankle in the first half of the upset win over North Carolina on Wednesday. Senior forward Amile Jefferson has been out since December and isn’t expected to play versus Louisville either.
That leaves the Blue Devils with only five healthy regular rotation players and a sixth in Chase Jeter, who averages just 4.9 minutes per game in ACC play. Duke has just four healthy scholarship guards in Grayson Allen, Luke Kennard, Derryck Thornton and Brandon Ingram. Without Tyus Jones and Rasheed Sulaimon (two early departures) and other reinforcements, all four of those guards are expected to play all 40 minutes today.
The Blue Devils were able to overcome fatigue on Wednesday when they came from behind to beat the Tar Heels. But Louisville is a different animal (an animal in a revenge spot after the Blue Devils beat the Cardinals a couple of weeks ago) and Duke is likely to fade in the second half today.
