Wildcats blast Owls

Villanova rolled to a 76-56 victory Sunday afternoon at Temple to improve to 19-6 overall and 5-3 on the road. The Wildcats outscored the Owls 50-26 in the second half after trailing by four at halftime. Collin Gillespie poured in 29 points to lead Villanova on 11-of-19 shooting including 7-of-11 from 3-point distance. He also accounted for five assists and two rebounds. Jermaine Samuels tallied 13 points and seven boards. Jeremiah Robinson-Earl added 10 points, five caroms and two assists.

Blue Demons drop seventh straight

DePaul lost 93-64 Saturday night at Creighton to drop to 13-12 overall and 1-11 in the Big East Conference. The Blue Demons trailed 42-28 at halftime and continued to fall behind further after the break. Charlie Moore led DePaul with 20 points on 8-of-15 shooting including 4-of-6 from 3-point range. He also dished out five assists. Romeo Weems contributed 12 points and five rebounds. Darious Hall added 11 points and three boards off the bench.

College Basketball Betting Trends

The Wildcats are 4-0-1 ATS in their last five road games. Villanova is 0-3-1 ATS in its last four Wednesday games.

The Blue Demons are 2-5 ATS in their last seven games overall. The home team is 2-10 ATS in the last 12 meetings.

DePaul has had plenty of struggles this season, but did give the Wildcats all they could handle last month in a 79-75 overtime loss on the road. With the Blue Demons in desperate need of something positive to happen and being at home, expect a solid effort here. Villanova has not always been world beaters lately and I'm betting on a closely contested game in which the hosts cover.
