Bears stumble at Red Raiders
Baylor suffered an 86-61 loss at Texas Tech Saturday afternoon to fall to 16-9 overall and 7-5 in the conference. The Bears were outscored 45-32 in the first half and could not recover. Baylor shot 17-of-49 from the floor, 9-of-25 on 3-point tries and 18-of-28 at the free throw line. Jared Butler paced the Bears with 16 points on 5-of-9 shooting including 4-of-5 from 3-point range plus 2-of-3 at the free throw line. He also tallied five rebounds and four assists. Mario Kegler added 15 points and four boards.
Cyclones roll at Wildcats
Iowa State secured a 78-64 victory Saturday at Kansas State to move to 19-6 overall and 8-4 in the Big 12. The Cyclones led 38-31 at halftime and pulled away after the break. Iowa State shot 29-of-55 from the field, 14-of-24 from 3-point distance and 6-of-11 at the free throw line. Lindell Wigginton led ISU with 23 points off the bench on 7-of-9 shooting including 5-of-6 from 3-point range plus 4-of-6 at the free throw line. He also had three rebounds and three assists. Talen Horton-Tucker scored 20 points to go with three boards and two assists. Marial Shayok added 13 points, 13 boards, three assists and two steals.
