Syracuse hot, visits No. 18 Louisville
No. 18 Louisville is on its way down while Syracuse is on its way up. Do the trends like the Orange to continue their upward swing against the Cardinals tonight?
According to oddsmakers at RealBets, Louisville is favored at home in tonight’s ACC contest, as the Cardinals are getting odds of -7.5 points against the Orange. The over/under total is listed at 130 points. These two meet at 7PM ET on ESPN.
The Cardinals (19-6, 8-4 ACC) are in a bit of a funk entering tonight’s game, as they are 1-2 straight up and 1-2 against the spread since announcing a 2016 postseason ban. Granted, the two losses came at Duke and Notre Dame, but even coach Rick Pitino admitted that the ban seems to be taking a toll on his squad. Syracuse (18-8, 8-5 ACC) knows all about postseason bans, as the Orange took a self-imposed ban last season and it lead to an 18-13 record. However, Syracuse is one of the hottest teams in the country, winning five straight and eight of their last nine.
To go along with the recent win streak, Syracuse is 7-2 against the spread in its last 9, with both failed covers coming in win. The Orange have covered the spread in three straight as an underdog while Louisville is just 2-3 ATS in its last five as a favorite. The Orange have also covered in four straight on the road. Cuse is averaging 73.8 points per game in their last five while Louisville, which has been known for its offense, is putting up just 65.6 points per game in their last five. If the Cardinals can’t find their offense, it will be another tough night for them against Syracuse.
