Sooners crush Cyclones

Oklahoma rolled to a 90-61 home win Wednesday night over Iowa State to improve to 16-8 overall and 6-5 in the Big 12 Conference. The Sooners outscored the Cyclones 50-25 in the second half to pull away. Kristian Doolittle paced Oklahoma with 20 points on 6-of-13 shooting including 1-of-3 from 3-point distance plus 7-of-8 at the free throw line. He also contributed six rebounds, three assists and three steals. Brady Manek tallied 18 points, five boards and three assists. Alondes Williams accounted for 14 points and six caroms. Austin Reaves had 12 points, four rebounds and four dimes. Jamal Bieniemy registered 12 points, seven boards, five assists and two steals. Devion Harmon added 10 points in 21 minutes off the bench.

Jayhawks outlast Mountaineers

Kansas picked up a 58-49 victory Wednesday night at West Virginia to move to 21-3 overall and 10-1 in conference action. Devon Dotson led the Jayhawks with 15 points on 4-of-13 shooting including 1-of-5 from 3-point distance plus 6-of-6 at the charity stripe. He also accumulated four rebounds, three steals and two assists. Isaiah Moss added 13 points, two boards and two steals off the bench. Kansas outscored the Mountaineers 34-19 in the second half after trailing by six at the break.

College Basketball Betting Trends

Oklahoma

The underdog is 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings. The Sooners are 11-23 ATS in their last 34 games when playing a team with a winning record after 15 or more games.

Kansas

The Jayhawks are 3-2 straight up versus Oklahoma in the last five meetings. Kansas is 2-3 ATS in the last five meetings.

Prediction:

The Jayhawks are the best defensive team in the nation according to adjusted efficiency numbers and it showed in full effect Wednesday night on the road when they completely shut down the Mountaineers in the second half. Kansas already has a 66-52 road win last month against Oklahoma to its credit. I'd imagine the sailing won't be much smoother for the Sooners now that the matchup is in a hostile environment with an early start.
