Rebels win third straight
Mississippi dominated rival Mississippi State Tuesday night at home by a count of 83-58 to improve to 13-11 overall and 4-7 in SEC play. The Rebels outscored the Bulldogs 50-24 in the second half after trailing by one at the break. Breein Tyree poured in 40 points in the winning effort on 13-of-22 shooting including 4-of-10 from 3-point distance plus 10-of-11 at the free throw line. He also contributed five rebounds, four assists and two assists. Khadim Sy tallied 18 points and eight boards. Devontae Shuler added 16 points, six caroms, three assists and two steals.
Wildcats ease past Commodores
Kentucky secured a 78-64 road win Tuesday night at Vanderbilt to move to 19-5 overall and 9-2 in conference action. The Wildcats outscored the Commodores 51-28 in the second half after trailing by nine at the break. Tyrese Maxey paced Kentucky with 25 points on 10-of-17 shooting including 3-of-4 from 3-point range plus 2-of-3 at the free throw line. He also accounted four four rebounds, two steals and two blocked shots. Immanuel Quickley registered 18 points, five boards and three assists. College Basketball Betting Trends
The Rebels are 35-21 ATS in their last 56 games overall. Ole Miss is 16-7 ATS in its last 23 games as an underdog.
The Wildcats are 16-30 ATS in its last 46 games as a favorite of 9.5-12 points. Kentucky is 36-17 ATS in its last 53 home games where the over-under is between 135 and 139.5 points.
The Wildcats are a bit inconsistent, but when they are focused they can dial it up against any opponent. Kentucky faces a Rebels squad that might be in a letdown spot after their destruction of a rival. Mississippi is playing some of its best basketball of the season, but still has been subpar offensively much of the season and is often subpar offensively. In a tough road environment and with an early start time, I'd rather side with the hosts to win decisively.
