Cougars win eighth straight

Houston earned a 65-58 home victory Sunday over Cincinnati to improve to 23-1 overall and 10-1 in the American Athletic Conference. The Cougars outscored the Bearcats 31-25 in the second half to post the win. Corey Davis Jr. paced Houston with 16 points on 5-of-10 shooting including 1-of-4 from 3-point distance plus 5-of-6 from the free throw line. He also notched six rebounds and two steals. Dejon Jarreau tallied 16 points plus eight rebounds and five assists off the bench. Galen Robinson Jr. added 10 points, four boards and three assists. The Cougars shot 26-of-53 from the field, 7-of-21 from 3-point distance and 6-of-10 at the free throw line.

Huskies fall short at Tigers

UConn suffered a 78-71 loss Sunday at Memphis to drop to 13-11 overall and 4-7 in conference action. The Huskies trailed 37-30 at halftime en route to the loss. UConn shot 25-of-62 from the field, 8-of-25 from 3-point range and 13-of-20 at the free throw line. Tyler Polley led the Huskies with 20 points on 7-of-12 shooting including 4-of-7 from 3-point range plus 2-of-4 at the free throw line. He also pulled down six rebounds. Sidney Wilson contributed 16 points along with six rebounds and three blocked shots. Christian Vital tallied 13 points, nine caroms, six assists and three steals. Tarin Smith added 13 points and two dimes.

College Basketball Betting Trends

The Cougars are 10-1 ATS in their last 11 road games. Houston is 35-16-2 ATS in its last 53 games overall.

The Huskies are 4-0 ATS in their last four home games. Houston is 5-1 ATS in its last six AAC games.

While Houston has had a remarkable season, only eight of its 25 wins have come against top-100 programs. The last three wins have all been by single digits and now the Cougars face a UConn squad that has won its last four home games. This spread seems a little too large with everything considered. The Huskies have been covering home spreads lately and I'm betting on them to do that once again.
