Hawkeyes ease past Cornhuskers

Iowa rolled to a 96-72 home win Saturday over Nebraska to improve to 17-7 overall and 8-5 in the Big Ten. The Hawkeyes led 41-30 at halftime and continued to pull away after the break. Joe Wieskamp paced Iowa with 30 points on 10-of-15 shooting including 2-of-4 from 3-point distance plus 8-of-8 at the free throw line. He also notched seven rebounds, three assists and two steals. Luke Garza added 22 points, eight boards, two dimes and two steals.

Hoosiers drop fourth straight

Indiana lost by a count of 74-62 Saturday at home versus Purdue to drop to 15-8 overall and 5-7 in conference action. The Hoosiers trailed 37-28 at the break and were unable to recover. Trayce Jackson-Davis led Indiana with 16 points on 4-of-9 shooting plus 8-of-10 at the charity stripe. He also tallied eight rebounds, four assists and three blocked shots. Justin Smith accounted for 11 points and five boards. Jerome Hunter added 10 points, three caroms and two assists.

College Basketball Betting Trends

The Hawkeyes are 9-3-3- ATS in their last 15 games overall. Iowa is 1-3-1 ATS in its last five games as a road underdog.

The Hoosiers are 2-5 ATS in their last seven home games. The favorite is 3-9 ATS in the last 12 meetings.

Indiana has hit the skids and this is basically a must-win spot for the hosts. But the good news for the Hoosiers is that they face a team that has not been good their last two times on the road. The Hawkeyes lost by 10 at Maryland and then were completely blown out their last road contest, a 104-68 selback at Purdue. I'm betting on this being the spot where Indiana bounces back with a key home win in what has been a wild and wacky Big Ten season.
