Jayhawks vs. Mountaineers Prediction

Kansas Jayhawks vs. West Virginia Mountaineers, 2/12/20 Prediction & Odds

The third-ranked Kansas Jayhawks have a tough test tonight as they are slight underdogs at the West Virginia Mountaineers. Can the lower-ranked hosts take care of business in front of the home faithful?

Jayhawks shut down Horned Frogs

Kansas secured a 60-46 victory Saturday at Texas Christian to improve to 20-3 overall and 9-1 in the Big 12 Conference. The Jayhawks led 31-18 en route to the triumph. Udoka Azubuike paced Kansas with 20 points on 10-of-14 shooting. He also racked up 15 rebounds and five blocked shots. Devon Dotson added 18 points, 11 assists, six boards and three steals.

Mountaineers stumble at Sooners

West Virginia fell by a count of 69-59 Saturday at Oklahoma to drop to 18-5 overall and 6-4 in conference action. The Mountaineers trailed 31-24 at halftime and were unable to recover. Jermaine Haley paced West Virginia with 15 points on 6-of-14 shooting including 1-of-3 from 3-point range plus 2-of-2 at the charity stripe. He also registered five rebounds, three assists and two steals. Oscar Tshiebwe added 12 points, nine boards and two steals.

College Basketball Betting Trends

The Jayhawks are 6-0 ATS in their last six road games. Kansas is 1-8 ATS in its last nine games as an underdog.

West Virginia

The Mountaineers are 7-1 ATS in their last eight home games. The home team is 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings.

The Jayhawks defeated West Virginia 60-53 at Allen Fieldhouse last month and are the best team in the nation defensively, while their offense is efficient most of the time as well. The Mountaineers have not lost at home all season, but its best home victory came against Texas Tech. Kansas is a couple levels up and I love the way the visitors have been playing lately. With West Virginia coming off a dud, I'd rather fade it against a top-notch opponent tonight.
