Boilermakers cruise past Cornhuskers

Purdue dominated visiting Nebraska to the tune of 81-62 Saturday night for its eighth consecutive win. The Boilermakers (17-6, 10-2 Big Ten Conference) outscored the Cornhuskers 48-31 in the second half to pull away. Purdue shot 27-of-53 from the floor, 8-of-20 from 3-point range and 19-of-21 at the free throw line. Carsen Edwards paced the Boilermakers with 17 points on 8-of-16 shooting including 2-of-8 from 3-point range plus 9-of-9 at the free throw line. He also tallied two rebounds and two assists. Grady Eifert accounted for 16 points, seven boards, four steals and two assists. Nojel Eastern tallied 12 points, 10 rebounds, four dimes and two steals. Ryan Cline added 10 points and four rebounds.

Terrapins roll at Nebraska

Maryland also won its last game against Nebraska, winning 60-45 on the road Wednesday night. The Terrapins (18-6, 9-4) led 28-20 at halftime and continued to pull away after the break. Maryland shot 22-of-58 from the field, 7-of-20 from 3-point distance and 9-of-18 at the charity stripe. Jalen Smith paced the Terrapins with 18 points on 8-of-16 shooting including 1-of-3 from 3-point range plus 1-of-3 at the free throw line. He also contributed 11 rebounds and two blocked shots. Bruno Fernando added 13 points, 19 rebounds, three blocked shots and two assists.

College Basketball Betting Trends

The Boilermakers are 7-1 ATS in their last eight games overall. Purdue is 16-5-1 ATS in its last 22 Tuesday games.

The Terrapins are 9-3-1 ATS in their last 13 Tuesday games. Maryland is 15-6-1 ATS after allowing 50 or less points its previous game.

Five of the eight Purdue wins during this streak have come at home, with an 84-80 overtime victory at Wisconsin being the lone top-25 win the Boilermakers have had this season. Meanwhile, Maryland has only lost once at home all season and that was against an elite opponent in Virginia back on Nov. 28 by a score of 76-71. I think the recipe is here for the Terrapins to record a key victory and halt Purdue's win streak.
