Rams win 10th straight
Rhode Island dominated George Washington at home Saturday to the tune of 82-51 to improve to 18-5 overall and 10-1 in conference play. The Rams led 41-25 at halftime en route to the win. Fatts Russell led Rhode Island with 24 points on 8-of-19 shooting including 6-of-10 from 3-point distance plus 2-of-4 at the free throw line. He also registered three assists and two steals. Jeff Dowtin registered 14 points, six rebounds, three steals and two dimes. Cyril Langevine accounted for 11 points, 13 boards and three assists. Tyrese Martin added 11 points, five caroms, three assists and two blocked shots.
Flyers down Billikens
Dayton secured a 71-65 home win Saturday over Saint Louis to move to 21-2 overall and 10-0 in the Atlantic 10. The Flyers led 39-31 at halftime and held on from there. Obi Toppin paced Dayton with 17 points on 7-of-12 shooting including 1-of-3 from 3-point range plus 2-of-4 at the charity stripe. He also racked up four rebounds, four steals, four blocked shots and three assists. Jalen Crutcher tallied 17 points and four dimes. Ryan Mikesell added 11 points, eight boards and three assists.
College Basketball Betting Trends
The Rams are 5-0 ATS in their last five road games. Rhode Island is 5-2 ATS in its last seven games following an ATS win.
The home team is 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings. The over is 5-1 in the last six Dayton Tuesday games.
The Rams are having a nice stretch and are clearly a talented team, but the only squad they have beaten during their 10-game winning streak inside the top 50 is VCU twice. The Flyers have an elite offense, ranked second nationally in adjusted efficiency, I expect Dayton to pile up the points here and eventually the Rams won't have any answers. I like the favorites here to win big.
