Purdue vs. Indiana Pick

CBB Predictions: Purdue Boilermakers vs. Indiana Hoosiers 2/9/17

Can No. 16 Purdue go on the road and pick up a big Big Ten win over Indiana when the two meet tonight at 7PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Purdue is favored on the road, as the Boilermakers are getting odds of -3.5 points against Indiana. The over/under total for the game is listed at 154.5 points Purdue has won three of the last four against Indiana, covering the spread in all four games.

Bet on Purdue vs. Indiana

Purdue has won two straight coming into this game, including a 73-72 win at Maryland. The Boilermakers are now 19-5 overall and 8-3 in the Big Ten. Purdue is 13-7-1 against the spread as well, but just 5-4-1 ATS on the road. Purdue is averaging 82.2 points per game on offense while giving up just 66.7 on defense. On the road, Purdue averages just 75.8 on offense while allowing 76.2 on defense. Caleb Swanigan is leading the team with 19.1 points and 12.8 rebounds per game while Isaac Haas is adding 13.1 points and 5.1 rebounds per game.

Indiana is coming off a 65-60 loss at Wisconsin for its third loss in four games. However, those three games were on the road. The Hoosiers are 13-2 at home this season and 15-9 overall and 5-6 in the Big Ten. Indiana sits 11-10-1 against the spread this season, including a 9-4 record ATS at home. On the season, IU averages 82 points on offense while allowing 71.6 on defense. At home, the Hoosiers put up 88.8 points per game while allowing just 67.7 on defense. James Blackmon Jr. leads the team with 17.6 points per game, but he is battling a leg injury that has him questionable for the game. OG Anunoby, who averages 11.1 points and 5.4 rebounds per game, is also out for the season with a knee injury.

Blackmon Jr. has missed the last three games but could return tonight. That would be a big boost for Indiana, which needs this win. While Indiana has been tough at home, the wins have come against teams like Penn State, Rutgers and Illinois. Their last real test at home was Wisconsin, which resulted in a 7-point loss. If Blackmon isn’t 100 percent, I don’t see Indiana having much chance tonight. Look for Purdue to build off the win at Maryland and get another big road win tonight.
