Zags ease past Lions
Gonzaga rolled to an 85-67 home win Thursday night to improve to 24-1 overall and 10-0 in the West Coast Conference. The Zags outscored the Lions 47-37 in the second half to put it away. Filip Petrusev paced Gonzaga with 21 points on 5-of-6 shooting plus 11-of-15 at the free throw line. He also brought down six rebounds. Drew Timme tallied 17 points, eight boards, three steals and two assists. Admon Gilder contributed 17 points and two dimes off the bench. Ryan Woolridge had 12 points, four assists and three caroms. Corey Kispert added 11 points, five steals, four assists and three rebounds.
Gaels down Toreros
St. Mary's earned a 66-60 victory Thursday night at San Diego to improve to 20-5 overall and 7-3 in conference action. The Gaels outscored the Toreros 42-38 in the second half to put it away. Jordan Ford paced St. Mary's with 19 points on 8-of-18 shooting plus 3-of-3 at the charity stripe. He also notched six assists and four rebounds. Malik Fitts contributed 17 points and 14 boards. College Basketball Betting Trends
The Bulldogs are 7-2 ATS in their last nine Saturday games. The road team is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings.
The Gaels are 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall. St. Mary's is 0-6 ATS in its last six games as a home favorite.
This is the best rivalry the West Coast Conference has and each program loves to play spoiler of sorts in front of the other team's home fans. Expect Gonzaga to bring it tonight against a St. Mary's squad that has home losses to Winthrop and Santa Clara on its resume. But where St. Mary's excels is offensively and this is a huge opportunity to take down a Zags team that was ranked for many weeks as No. 1 before settling into the second spot. I think we're in for a treat tonight and am taking the home team with the points.
