Green Wave drop fifth straight

Tulane lost by a score of 82-67 Saturday at Southern Methodist to fall to 10-11 overall and 2-7 in American Athletic Conference action. The Green Wave were outscored 54-36 in the second half after leading by three at halftime. Nic Thomas paced Tulane with 20 points on 7-of-16 shooting including 6-of-11 from 3-point range. He also pulled down two rebounds. K.J. Lawson tallied 15 points and seven boards. Teshaun Hightower accounted for 12 points, four assists and two caroms. Christion Thompson added 11 points, three dimes and two rebounds.

Cougars upended by Bearcats

Houston had its five-game winning streak come to a close Saturday night as it fell 64-62 at Cincinnati. The Cougars were outscored 34-22 in the second half after leading by 10 at the break. Marcus Sasser led Houston with 17 points in 20 minutes of action on 6-of-10 shooting including 4-of-5 from 3-point range plus 1-of-1 at the charity stripe. Nate Hinton added 16 points, eight rebounds and two steals.

College Basketball Betting Trends

The Green Wave are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 road games. Tulane is 9-20 ATS in its last 29 Thursday games.

The Cougars are 10-3 ATS in their last 13 games overall. The home team is 3-10 ATS in the last 13 meetings.

Houston is going to be salty tonight after blowing the double-digit lead at Cincinnati over the weekend. But with a spread this big, the Cougars will need to be on top of their game to cover this spread. I'd rather take the points as Houston has another big game coming up against Wichita State and with a season having its peaks and valleys, I'm going to bank on this being a bit of a valley for one more game at least.
