Michigan State vs. Iowa Pick

Michigan State vs. Iowa College Basketball Predictions 2/6/18

Will No. 4 Michigan State be able to go on the road and pick up a lopsided win over Iowa when the two meet tonight at 9PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at YouWager, Michigan State is favored on the road, as the Spartans are getting odds of -10 points against Iowa. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 154.5 points. Tonight’s game takes place from Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City, Iowa and will air live on ESPN.

Michigan State is on a six-game winning streak following a 63-60 win at Indiana this past weekend. The Spartans are 0-3-1 against the spread in their last four games, though. The Spartans are 22-3 overall, 10-2 in the Big Ten and 13-11-1 against the spread. MSU is averaging 83.2 points per game on offense while allowing just 64.2 per contest. Miles Bridges is averaging 17.4 points and 7.4 rebounds per game to lead the team while Nick Ward is adding 13.2 points and 7.7 rebounds per contest.

Iowa is coming off an 82-58 loss at Penn State this past weekend for its seventh loss in 10 games. The Hawkeyes are 12-13 on the season, 3-9 in the Big Ten and 8-11-2 against the spread. Iowa is putting up 80.2 points per game on offense while allowing 77.6 per contest. Tyler Cook has been the go-to player for Iowa this season with 15.3 points and 6.8 rebounds per game while Jordan Bohannon is adding 13.6 points and 5.3 assists per game.

Bet on Michigan State vs. Iowa

Michigan State has won eight of the last 10 meetings in this series, but Iowa has won and covered in two of the last three. Michigan State is very talented team, but the Spartans have really struggled with turnovers and letting lesser opponents hang around. Going on the road hasn’t been an easy thing for them either. They narrowly escaped Indiana this week and pushed at Maryland prior to that. I think, despite how bad Iowa can be, the Spartans will continue to play sloppy and allow the Hawkeyes to keep this game interesting. The public betting is backing Michigan State tonight, but I will take the points.
