Broncos win back-to-back games
Boise State has put an end to a three-game losing streak by winning back-to-back games over Wyoming and Colorado State over the last week. The Broncos are just 1-3 against the spread in their last four, though. Boise is 10-11 overall, 5-3 in the Mountain West, 3-5 on the road, 9-11 against the spread and 12-8 with the under.
The Broncos have struggled on offense this season, scoring just 70.7 points per game while shooting just 33.8 percent from the arc. Defensively, Boise State is giving up 66.5 points per contest. Justinian Jessup is leading the team with 12.9 points and 4.3 rebounds per game while Alex Hobbs is adding 11.5 points per contest.
Nevada keeps rolling
Nevada is on a 6-game win streak following an 87-70 victory at UNLV this week. The Wolf Pack have covered in two straight. Nevada comes into tonight 20-1 overall, 7-1 in the MWC, 10-0 at home, 12-7-1 against the spread and 13-7 with the under.
The Wolf Pack are one of the stronger offenses in the country, averaging 80.9 points per game. Their defense is pretty strong as well, allowing just 65.8 points per game while limiting opponents to 39.8 percent shooting. Jordan Caroline is leading the team with 18.6 points and 9.7 rebounds per game while Caleb Martin is adding 18.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per contest.
College Basketball Betting Trends
Boise State
The Broncos are just 5-14-1 against the spread in their last 20 games following a win and 2-8 ATS in their last 10 road games against a team with a winning home record.
Nevada
Nevada is 41-20-3 against the spread in their last 64 home games and 36-17-3 ATS in their last 56 games following a cover.
Prediction:
Nevada got a scare from Boise on Jan. 15, as the Wolf Pack earned just a 1-point win on the road. Still, Nevada is a very balanced team that can quickly overwhelm MWC opponents. Boise is averaging under 70 points per game on the road and that just isn’t going to get it done against the Wolf Pack. Nevada has too much offense and a very overlooked defense. I think the Pack will pounce on the Broncos tonight.
College Basketball Prediction: Nevada -14.5
