Cardinals roll past Eagles

Louisville posted an 86-69 victory Wednesday night at Boston College to improve to 18-3 overall and 9-1 in Atlantic Coast Conference play. Jordan Nwora scored 37 points for the Cardinals to lead the way on 11-of-20 shooting including 7-of-14 from 3-point distance plus 8-of-9 at the free throw line. He also pulled down nine rebounds. Darius Perry tallied 14 points, two assists and two steals. Dwayne Sutton added 10 points and three boards. Louisville outscored the Eagles 41-26 in the second half to pull away.

Wolfpack stumble against rivals

North Carolina State fell 75-65 Monday night at home versus rival North Carolina to fall to 14-7 overall and 5-5 in conference action. The Wolfpack were outscored 36-30 in the second half of the loss. D.J. Funderburk led NC State with 18 points on 7-of-9 shooting plus 4-of-4 at the charity stripe. He also recorded eight rebounds and two steals. Devon Daniels contributed 17 points, six boards, three assists and three steals. Markell Johnson tallied 12 points, six dimes, four rebounds and two steals. Jerilole Hellems added 10 points in 14 minutes of action.

Prediction:

The Wolfpack have dropped their last two games and now have an important contest at home this afternoon. While NC State has a few impressive performances this season, this is also their toughest test to date. Louisville is playing with a ton of confidence that grew tenfold after the win at Duke and with a veteran roster, it is capable of winning at any arena in the country. I'm taking the favorites here.
