Hawkeyes wins fifth straight

Iowa picked up a 68-62 home win Monday night over Wisconsin to move to 15-5 overall and 6-3 in Big Ten Conference play. The Hawkeyes outscored the Badgers 38-32 in the second half to secure the win. Luka Garza led Iowa with 21 points on 6-of-17 shooting plus 9-of-13 from the free throw line. He also registered 18 rebounds and three blocked shots. C.J. Fredrick contributed 17 points, three boards and two assists. Joe Wieskamp tallied 12 points and 10 caroms. Joe Toussaint added 11 points, four dimes and two rebounds.

Terrapins win back-and-forth affair

Maryland earned a 77-76 victory Sunday afternoon over Indiana to move to 16-4 overall and 6-3 in conference action. The Terrapins led 45-36 at halftime before falling behind in the second half, but ultimately managed to carve out a win via a late bucket by Jalen Smith. Smith paced Maryland with 29 points on 10-of-14 shooting including 4-of-6 from 3-point range plus 5-of-7 at the charity stripe. He also registered 11 rebounds, two assists and two blocked shots. Anthony Cowan Jr. contributed 18 points, four dimes and two boards. Darryl Morsell added 10 points and six caroms.

Predition:

The Terrapins already got smashed by the Hawkeyes by a count of 67-49 earlier this month, so this is a definite revenge spot. But after the thrilling win Sunday and the fact that Iowa is playing so well lately, it gives me cause for concern. The Hawkeyes are fantastic offensively and could provide some matchup problems again unless Maryland finds the correct adjustments. I'd rather take the points with the red-hot squad.
