Commodores stomped by Gamecocks
Vanderbilt lost by a score of 90-64 Saturday night at South Carolina to drop to 8-11 overall and 0-6 in the SEC. The Commodores were outscored 46-29 in the second half of the defeat. Saben Lee led Vandy with 17 points on 5-of-14 shooting plus 7-of-15 at the free throw line. He also registered three rebounds, three assists and two steals. Scotty Pippen Jr. accounted for 11 points, three boards, two assists and two steals. Jordan Wright added 10 points and three caroms.
Wildcats down Red Raiders in OT
Nick Richards hit the deciding free throws with 10 seconds left in overtime Saturday as Kentucky downed host Texas Tech by a score of 76-74. The Wildcats (15-4 overall, 3-1 road) were outscored 30-28 in the second half, but outscored the Red Raiders 12-10 in the extra session. Richards paced Kentucky with 25 points on 7-of-10 shooting plus 11-of-14 at the free throw line. He also registered 14 rebounds and four blocked shots. Immanuel Quickley added 21 points and six boards.

The Commodores are bad, but the spread is big enough to give me pause. Kentucky is coming off a hard-fought win and could have a letdown here, plus the focus might not be great in the first place considering the opponent. This bet might need some luck, but it won’t take a lot going wrong for the Wildcats to keep this from being a blowout as big as the spread suggests it will be.
