Cavs crush Fighting Irish
Virginia dominated on the road Saturday as it won 82-55 at Notre Dame to improve to 18-1 overall and 6-1 in the ACC. De'Andre Hunter paced the Cavaliers with 19 points on 9-of-15 shooting including 1-of-3 at the free throw line. He also contributed seven rebounds and two assists. Kyle Guy tallied 15 points and five boards. Ty Jerome registered 13 points, nine caroms and six dimes. Kihei Clark had 12 points in 27 minutes off the bench. Mamadi Diakite added 10 points, seven rebounds and four blocked shots. Virginia established a 42-25 halftime advantage on its way to the rout. The Cavaliers shot 35-of-67 from the field, 8-of-18 on 3-point tries and 4-of-7 at the free throw line.
Wolfpack win on buzzer-beater
Braxton Beverly drained a 3-pointer at the buzzer Saturday to lift North Carolina State to a 69-67 home victory over Clemson. The Wolfpack (16-4, 4-3 ACC) led 30-24 at halftime before eventually losing their lead in the second half and winning in thrilling fashion. The Wolfpack were led by Markell Johnson as he accounted for 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting including 3-of-6 from 3-point range plus 1-of-1 at the free throw line off the bench. He also dished out two assists. C.J. Bryce tallied 15 points, seven boards and two assists. Beverly added 12 points, five assists and four rebounds. North Carolina State shot 24-of-54 from the floor, 9-of-24 from 3-point distance and 12-of-13 at the free throw line.
College Basketball Betting Trends
The Cavaliers are 5-0 ATS in their last five Tuesday games. Virginia is 23-8 ATS in its last 31 road games.
North Carolina State
The Wolfpack are 1-5 ATS in their last six games overall. North Carolina State is 5-2 ATS in its last seven Tuesday games.
The Cavaliers have won nine of their last 10 games by at least 13 points, the other being a narrow loss at second-ranked Duke. I don't think this is a good spot to fade the Cavs, especially with the Wolfpack coming off an exciting win that could lead to a letdown here. North Carolina State has defensive deficiencies and it is likely to bite them here against an elite offense.
