Kentucky on a win streak
The Wildcats have won six straight games following a 71-63 win over Kansas this past weekend. UK has covered the spread in four straight as well. Kentucky is 16-3 on the season, 5-1 in the SEC, 3-1 on the road, 10-9 against the spread and 11-8 with the under.
Kentucky is putting up 79.5 points per game on offense this season while giving up 67.3 points per contest while holding opponents to 41.2 percent shooting. Keldon Johnson is leading the team with 14.6 points and 5.3 rebounds per game while Tyler Herro is adding 13.3 points per contest.
Vandy winless in SEC
The Commodores are coming off an 86-55 loss at Oklahoma this past weekend for a seventh straight loss. They are 2-5 against the spread during this losing streak. Vandy is 9-10 on the season, 0-6 in the SEC, 8-5 at home, 7-12 against the spread and 10-7-1 with the under.
Vanderbilt is putting up 75.8 points per game on offense while shooting just 44.5 percent from the field. Defensively, the Commodores are allowing 72.7 points per contest. College Basketball Betting Trends
Kentucky
The Wildcats are 4-1 against the spread in their last five road games and 10-4 ATS in their last 14 SEC contests.
Vanderbilt
The Commodores are 9-20 against the spread in their last 29 home games and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 conference games.
Prediction:
Kentucky seems to be locked in right now and improving throughout the year. Following a win over Kansas, there is potential for a letdown performance tonight, but Vandy is really not a good team. The Commodores are not a good defensive team and don’t have the offensive depth that Kentucky has. The Wildcats should be able to find the hot hand and pull away from Vandy. Kentucky won 56-47 at home back on Jan. 12, so I think they know they can’t overlook the Commodores.
College Basketball Prediction: Kentucky -9.5
