Seminoles win 10th straight
Florida State secured an 85-84 home victory Saturday at home over Notre Dame to improve to 17-2 overall and 7-1 in conference action. The Seminoles led 47-37 at halftime before holding off a comeback attempt by the Fighting Irish. Wyatt Wilkes paced FSU with 19 points off the bench on 6-of-10 shooting including 5-of-6 from 3-point distance plus 2-of-2 at the free throw line. He also pulled down two rebounds. Raiquan Gray tallied 13 points and four boards. Trent Forrest tallied 13 points, seven assists, five caroms and four steals. Devin Vassell added 11 points, seven rebounds and two dimes.
Cavaliers win in OT
Virginia secured a 65-63 win Sunday in overtime at Wake Forest to move to 13-6 overall and 5-4 in ACC play. The Cavaliers outscored the Demon Deacons 28-21 in the second half and 9-7 in the extra session to notch the victory. Tomas Woldetensae paced Virginia with 21 points on 7-of-15 shooting including 7-of-14 from 3-point range. He also pulled down six rebounds. Mamadi Diakite contributed 16 points and seven boards. Kihei Clark added 13 points, eight caroms, seven assists and two steals.
College Basketball Betting Trends
The Seminoles are 18-7-1 ATS in their last 26 Tuesday games. Florida State is 3-7 ATS in its last 10 games following a straight up win.
The Cavaliers are 1-5 ATS in their last six home games. The home team is 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings.
The Seminoles have not exactly played great their last two games, but found a way to the win. Now they get an offensively deprived Virginia squad that is still very nasty defensively, currently ranked second nationally in adjusted efficiency. The Cavaliers have lost four of six games this month with the only wins being against Georgia Tech and Wake Forest. I'd rather take the more consistent team here and the one I can trust to get a basket in a tight game down the stretch.
