Florida St. vs. Syracuse Pick

CBB Predictions: Florida State Seminoles vs. Syracuse Orange 1/28/17

No. 6 Florida State looks to go on the road and pick up another win when it takes on Syracuse today at Noon ET.

According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Florida State is the slight favorite on the road, as the Seminoles are getting odds of -3 points against Syracuse. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 151.5 points. Syracuse has won and covered the spread in three of their last four meetings with Florida State.

Bet on Florida State vs. Syracuse

Florida State is coming off a 78-56 loss at Georgia Tech this week to drop to 18-3 on the season and 6-2 in the ACC. The Seminoles have been struggling against the spread, going 0-3-1 ATS in their last four. They are now 11-7-1 ATS on the season. FSU is averaging 84.2 points per game on offense this season, but only 66.3 points per game away from home. Defensively, FSU is allowing 71.1 points per game on the year and 77.3 on the road. Dwayne Bacon is averaging 17.1 points per game to lead the team while Jonathan Isaac is adding 12.9 points and 7.8 rebounds per contest.

Syracuse is coming off an 81-76 win over Wake Forest to move to 12-9 on the season and 4-4 in the ACC. The Orange are just 2-3 against the spread in their last five and are now 7-9 ATS on the season. For the season, Syracuse puts up 75.7 points per game on offense while allowing just 68.2 on defense. When it comes to home games, the Cuse is averaging 81.5 points per game on offense while allowing 63.7 on defense. Andrew White III is averaging 16.3 points per game to lead the team while Tyler Lydon is adding 14.2 points and 7.8 rebounds per contest.

Florida State has given people reasons to doubt them now when on the road. A 13-point loss at UNC was followed by a surprising 22-point loss at Georgia Tech. Now it heads on the road as a favorite against Syracuse, a team that has won five straight at home and is 7-2 against the spread at home. The spread isn’t big, but I like Syracuse to put up a great effort against this FSU team and cover the spread.
