Purdue Boilermakers Game Notes
Jaden Ivey (hip) expects to take the floor during Thursday’s game against Iowa, Mike Carmin of the Lafayette Journal & Courier reports. Ivey was unable to take the floor Sunday against Northwestern because of the hip issue, but it appears to be minor enough that he will likely retake his spot Thursday. Assuming that’s the case, look for Ivey to resume his starting duties, as he looks to continue a stretch where he’s averaging 19.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists over the last three games.
Iowa Hawkeyes Game Notes
Keegan Murray had 15 points (4-12 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 6-8 FT), eight rebounds, two assists, three blocks and one steal in 40 minutes during Saturday’s 68-51 victory over Penn State. Although Murray wasn’t very efficient from the floor during Saturday’s victory, he led the Hawkeyes in scoring and came within two rebounds of his third consecutive double-double. Across six appearances since the start of January, he’s averaged 21.2 points and 8.8 rebounds in 34.3 minutes per game.
Illinois vs. Marquette Game Prediction
While it might be tempting to only lay 2.5 points with a juggernaut like Purdue, the home team is 16-6 against the spread in the last 22 meetings between these two teams and the Boilermakers are just 1-4 against the number in their last five road games. The Hawkeyes, meanwhile, are an impressive 33-15-3 at the betting window in their last 51 home games and have also covered in seven of their last 10 games following a win.
