Spartans fall at Hoosiers
Michigan State lost by a score of 67-63 Thursday night at Indiana to drop to 14-5 overall and 6-2 in the Big Ten Conference. The Spartans trailed 37-30 at halftime and faltered down the stretch after a second-half rally attempt. Cassius Winston paced MSU with 17 points on 5-of-11 shooting including 3-of-6 from 3-point distance plus 4-of-6 at the free throw line. He also recorded five assists and two rebounds. Aaron Henry tallied 12 points and two boards. Gabe Brown added 10 points and two caroms.
Golden Gophers slip past Buckeyes
Minnesota secured a 62-59 victory Thursday night at Ohio State as Marcus Carr hit the go-ahead 3-pointer with four seconds remaining. The Golden Gophers (11-8, 5-4 Big Ten) outscored the Buckeyes 34-22 in the second half after trailing by nine at the break. Carr led Minnesota with 21 points on 7-of-13 shooting including 3-of-5 from 3-point range plus 4-of-7 at the charity stripe. He also notched seven rebounds and two assists. Gabe Kalscheur contributed 13 points and two boards. Daniel Oturu added 11 points and six caroms.
College Basketball Betting Trends
Michigan State
The Spartans are 7-2 ATS in their last nine Sunday games. Michigan State is 6-2 ATS in its last eight games as a favorite.
Minnesota
The Golden Gophers are 5-1 ATS in their last six home games. The underdog is 0-6 ATS in the last six meetings.
Prediction:
Minnesota has a strong offense that is ranked 16th nationally in adjusted efficiency and after coming off a big road win, it comes home where it has only lost once straight up this season. With MSU struggling on the road lately, I like the idea of taking the points here with the hosts. The revenge factor is in play as the Golden Gophers lost by 16 earlier this month at Michigan State.
