Matthews wins it at buzzer

Charles Matthews connected on a baseline floater at the buzzzer Tuesday night to send Michigan to a 59-57 home win Tuesday night over Minnesota. The Wolverines (18-1, 7-1 Big Ten) were paced by Ignas Brazdeikis as he scored 18 points on 4-of-18 shooting including 1-of-7 from 3-point range plus 9-of-11 at the free throw line. He also pulled down 11 rebounds and dished out two assists. Jon Teske added 15 points, five boards and three blocked shots. Michigan trailed 31-28 at halftime before rallying back. The Wolverines shot 21-of-62 from the floor, 3-of-22 from 3-point range and 14-of-22 at the free throw line.

Hoosiers drop fifth straight

Indiana dropped a 73-66 contest at Northwestern Tuesday night to continue its struggles and drop to 12-7 overall and 3-5 in conference play. Juwan Morgan paced the Hoosiers with 18 points on 7-of-15 shooting plus 4-of-4 at the free throw line. He also had 11 rebounds and three assists. Rob Phinisee contributed 13 points, two rebounds and two assists. Romeo Langford tallied 12 points, six boards and two assists. Justin Smith added 10 points, 12 caroms and two dimes. Indiana trailed 28-24 at halftime and could not recover. The Hoosiers shot 23-of-60 from the field, 4-of-21 from 3-point distance and 16-of-21 at the charity stripe.

College Basketball Betting Trends

Michigan

The Wolverines are 25-9-1 ATS in their last 35 game versus the Big Ten. Michigan is 21-8-1 ATS in its last 30 road games.

Indiana

The Hoosiers are 4-1 ATS in their last five Friday games. Indiana is 1-5 ATS in its last six games against the Big Ten.

Prediction:

Neither team is playing the best basketball right now, but the Hoosiers are in desperation mode and already have a game of experience to learn from against the Wolverines. Indiana is catching Michigan at the right time, and while you could say the say thing reversing the teams, I like the home team to keep it close or pull off the upset. Four of the Hoosiers' five losses during this skid have been on the road, while all but one were also against ranked teams. Take that into account when placing a wager on tonight's game.
