Will No. 1 Villanova have any trouble when it goes on the road to face Marquette tonight at 8PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Villanova is favored on the road, as the Wildcats are getting odds of -5 points against the Eagles. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 151.5 points. Villanova has won nine straight in this series, including a 93-81 win at home back on Jan. 7. The Wildcats have covered the spread in eight of the nine wins.

Villanova is on a 5-game win streak to move to 19-1 on the season and 7-1 in the Big East. The Wildcats have covered in four of the five wins and all have been by double figures. Nova is 12-7 against the spread for the season. The Cats are averaging 78.6 points per game on offense while the defense is allowing just 62 points per game. ON the road, Nova has been held to 73.8 points per game. Josh Hart is putting up 19.2 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game to be one of the top players in the country. Kris Jenkins is adding 14.3 points and 4.2 rebounds per game.

Marquette is coming off a big 102-94 win at Creighton this past weekend to get to 13-6 overall and 4-3 in the Big East. The Golden Eagles come in at 10-9 against the spread in 2016-17 and 6-5 ATS at home. Marquette has a strong offense that averages 84.6 points per game overall and 87.2 at home. However, the defense is somewhat questionable. The Golden Eagles are allowing 74.1 per game but just 68.7 on the road. Marquette has five players averaging in double figures with Jajuan Johnson leading the way. Johnson is putting up 13 points and 4.8 rebounds and 2.4 steals per game.

Nova isn’t getting many points tonight as Marquette has been in a nice stretch. But, facing Villanova is another story. The Wildcats were able to handle the Golden Eagles at home for a 12-point win a few weeks ago. Marquette could certainly play up at home, but Villanova is a team that can handle itself on the road as well. The Wildcats have too much talent and too much big-game experience to let this game slip away.
