Rams upended at Aggies
Colorado State lost by a count of 87-72 Saturday night at Utah State to drop to 7-11 overall and 2-3 in the Mountain West Conference. The Rams trailed 44-35 at halftime and could not recover. J.D. Paige led CSU with 17 points on 5-of-13 shooting including 1-of-6 from 3-point range plus 6-of-8 from the free throw line. Hyron Edwards tallied 14 points and three steals off the bench. Adam Thistlewood contributed 12 points and two rebounds. Nico Carvacho tallied 12 points and 10 boards. Kris Martin added 10 points and four assists. Colorado State shot 23-of-51 from the floor, 10-of-24 on 3-pointers and 16-of-26 at the free throw line.
Wolfpack fly past Air Force
Nevada earned a 67-52 home win Saturday night over the Falcons to move to 18-1 overall and 5-1 in the MVC. The Wolfpack trailed by four at halftime before outscoring Air Force 47-28 after the break. Nevada shot 24-of-57 from the floor, 5-of-27 from 3-point distance and 14-of-23 from the free throw line. Jordan Caroline led Nevada with 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting including 1-of-2 from 3-point range plus 4-of-5 at the free throw line. He also pulled down eight rebounds. Trey Porter contributed 11 points, six boards and two steals. Caleb Martin added 10 points, seven caroms and five dimes.
