Golden Gophers rally for win

Minnesota outscored visiting Penn State 35-28 in the second half Saturday night to record a 65-64 victory. The Golden Gophers (14-4, 4-3 Big Ten) were led by Jordan Murphy as he scored 19 points on 7-of-14 shooting plus 5-of-8 at the free throw line. Murphy also pulled down a career-high 21 rebounds to go with six assists, three steals and three blocked shots. Amir Coffey contributed 11 points and two rebounds, while Eric Curry tallied 11 points and five boards off the bench. Daniel Oturu added 10 points in 20 minutes. Minnesota shot 20-of-50 from the field, 3-of-14 from 3-point range and 22-of-30 at the free throw line.

Jon Teske paced U-M with 15 points on 5-of-10 shooting including 2-of-4 from 3-point range plus 3-of-6 at the free throw line. He also tallied seven rebounds, four blocked shots and two steals. College Basketball Betting Trends

Michigan

The Golden Gophers are 2-7 ATS in their last nine games overall. Minnesota is 5-16 ATS in its last 21 Tuesday games.

Michigan

The Wolverines are 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall. Michigan is 7-3 ATS in its last 10 Tuesday games.

Prediction:

Michigan would probably be a 13 or 14-point favorite if there wasn't the recency bias surrounding its loss. Sure, the Wolverines didn't play very well Saturday but the Kohl Center is a tough road environment and Wisconsin plays a style that can take a team out of its comfort zone. Look for U-M to bounce back in a big way here against a Minnesota squad that isn't particularly efficient on either end of the floor. The Golden Gophers did beat Wisconsin on the road, but since have been blown out twice while beating a bad Rutgers team and a mediocre Penn State squad.
