Tigers edged by Kentucky

Auburn is coming off an 82-80 loss at home to Kentucky. The Tigers have lost two of their last four games. Auburn is 13-4 on the season, 2-2 in the SEC, 1-2 on the road, 8-7-1 against the spread and 9-7 with the over.

The Tigers have one of the top offenses in the nation, putting up 84.2 points per game. Defensively, Auburn is giving up 67.4 points per game while limiting opponents 42.1 percent shooting. The team recently lost center Austin Wiley indefinitely to a leg injury. He was average 10.8 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. Bryce Brown is the team leader with 16.9 points per game while Jared Harper adds 15.2 points per contest.

SC takes first SEC loss

South Carolina started 4-0 in the SEC, but is coming off an 89-67 loss at LSU this past weekend. The Gamecocks are 9-8 on the season, 4-1 in the SEC, 6-4 at home, 6-10 against the spread and 11-4 with the over.

The Gamecocks are average on both sides of the court. They put up 74.9 points per game while giving up 72.4 points per contest. Auburn is one of the worst-shooting teams from the arc, hitting just 31 percent from 3 while giving up 36.2 percent shooting to opponents. A.J. Lawson is leading the team this season with 13.6 points and 4.2 rebounds per game while Chris Silva is adding 11.9 points and 6.4 rebounds per contest.

College Basketball Betting Trends

Auburn

The Tigers are 2-6 against the spread in their last eight SEC games and just 1-6 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record.

South Carolina

The Gamecocks are 10-2-1 against the spread in their last 13 SEC games, but just 2-8 ATS in their last 10 home games.

Prediction:

South Carolina has made the most of its games with Auburn in recent history, winning three of the last four meetings while covering the spread in all four. On paper, Auburn is the better team, but the Tigers have struggled to cover this season. They have suffered road losses to Ole Miss and N.C. State over the last month. However, South Carolina got exposed at LSU a little bit for their last of offense. LSU blitzed right by them this weekend and teams like Clemson and Michigan have been too much for the Gamecocks to handle. Auburn can score in bunches and as long as the Tiger shoot well, I think they will cover tonight.

College Basketball Prediction: Auburn -7.5
