Demon Deacons vs. Hokies Prediction
The Wake Forest Demon Deacons pulled off a home victory over a ranked opponent earlier this week. Can Wake Forest build off that as it takes to the road today to face another quality opponent in the ninth-ranked Virginia Tech Hokies?

Demon Deacons snap three-game skid
Wake Forest blew a big lead, but held on for a 71-67 home victory Tuesday night over 17th-ranked North Carolina State. The Demon Deacons (8-8, 1-3 ACC) led 42-27 at halftime before having to hold on in the second half after the Wolfpack rallied. Jaylen Hoard paced Wake Forest with 16 points on 4-of-9 shooting including 1-of-1 from 3-point range plus 7-of-8 at the free throw line. He also tallied 10 rebounds, three assists, three blocked shots and two steals. Torry Johnson notched 11 points and two rebounds in 14 minutes off the bench. Brandon Childress added 10 points, nine boards, four dimes and two steals. The Demon Deacons shot 23-of-52 from the floor, 2-of-11 from 3-point range and 23-of-28 from the charity stripe.
Hokies blown out by Cavaliers
Virginia Tech was dominated at in-state rival and fourth-ranked Virginia Tuesday night to the tune of 81-59. The Hokies (14-2, 3-1 ACC) were doubled up 44-22 in the first half and could not recover. Nickeil Alexander-Walker led Virginia Tech with 19 points on 6-of-10 shooting including 2-of-3 from 3-point range plus 5-of-7 at the free throw line. He also recorded four rebounds and three assists. Ahmed Hill added 14 points, two boards and two dimes. The Hokies shot 19-of-44 from the field, 7-of-21 from 3-point distance and 14-of-21 from the free throw line.
College Basketball Betting Trends
Wake Forest
The Demon Deacons are 3-13 ATS in their last 16 Saturday games. Wake Forest is 4-11 ATS in its last 15 road games.
Virginia Tech
The home team is 2-6 ATS in the last eight meetings. Virginia Tech is 5-2 ATS in its last seven home games.
Prediction:
I rate the Hokies highly despite the rough loss at Virginia and this is a prime bounceback spot at home. The Demon Deacons had lost their last three games by double digits before the unlikely win over NC State. Look for a letdown here as they are a very poor defensive team playing a squad in the Hokies ranked seventh nationally in adjusted offensive efficiency.
