Tar Heels bounce back against Irish

North Carolina earned a 75-69 home victory over Notre Dame Tuesday night to improve to 13-4 and 3-1 in the ACC. The Tar Heels outscored the Fighting Irish 42-33 in the second half to offset a sluggish first half. Coby White led UNC with 17 points on 6-of-11 shooting including 4-of-7 on 3point tries plus 1-of-2 at the free throw line. He also grabbed five rebounds. Luke Maye notched a double-double with 14 points and 10 boards. Cameron Johnson accounted for 11 points, seven caroms and six dimes. Nassir Little added 11 points and six rebounds off the bench. North Carolina shot 27-of-68 from the floor including 9-of-21 on 3-point attempts plus 12-of-20 at the charity stripe.

Hurricanes race past Demon Deacons

Miami improved to 9-7 on the season and 1-3 in conference action Saturday with a 76-65 home win over Wake Forest. Chris Lykes paced the Hurricanes with 25 points on 5-of-11 shooting including 1-of-4 on 3-point tries plus a perfect 14-of-14 at the free throw line. Dejan Vasiljevic contributed 14 points off the bench plus four rebounds. Ebuka Izundu added 11 points, 11 rebounds and three assists. Miami outscored the Demon Deacons 44-32 in the second half to post the victory. The Hurricanes shot 23-of-48 from the field, 11-of-25 on 3-pointers and 19-of-23 at the free throw line.

College Basketball Betting Trends

North Carolina

The Tar Heels are 5-1 ATS in their last six road games. The under is 7-0 in the last seven UNC games.

The Hurricanes are 5-12 ATS in their last 17 ACC games. Miami is 12-30 ATS in its last 42 home games.

North Carolina hasn't covered the last two home games, but maybe we can look at this in a reverse manner as getting away from the pressures of winning at home. The Tar Heels looked sharp in the second half against Notre Dame and the carryover effect could be in effect against an average Miami squad. The Tar Heels have been excellent defensively, but have struggled shooting the ball lately. Facing a team in the Hurricanes that is barely inside the top 100 nationally in adjusted defensive efficiency should help that.
