Falcons looking for win streak

Air Force is coming off a 106-88 win over UNLV at home earlier this week for a second straight win and cover. However, both came at home. The Falcons are 7-10 on the season, 2-3 in the Mountain West, 0-5 on the road, 8-8 against the spread and 9-7 with the over.

The Falcons are struggling on offense this season, scoring just 68.6 points per game despite shooting 47.5 percent from the field. Defensively, Air Force is giving up 71.4 points per game while allowing opponents to shoot 45.7 percent. Lavelle Scottie is leading the team with 13.4 points and 5.2 rebounds per game while Ryan Swan is adding 12.9 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.

Nevada gets close call

Nevada is coming off a 72-71 win at Boise State earlier this week. The Wolf Pack have won three straight despite not covering in their recent win. Nevada is 17-1 on the season, 4-1 in the Mountain West, 8-0 at home, 10-6-1 against the spread and 12-5 with the under.

The Wolf Pack are solid on both sides of the ball. They average 80.2 points per game on offense while giving up just 66.6 points per game on defense. Caleb Martin is leading the team with 18.6 points per game while Jordan Carolina is putting up 18.2 points and 9.9 rebounds per contest.

College Basketball Betting Trends

Air Force

The Falcons are 11-5 against the spread in their last 16 Saturday games and 5-2 ATS in their last seven Mountain West contests.

Nevada

The Wolf Pack are 40-19-3 against the spread in their last 62 home games, but just 1-5-1 ATS in their last seven games against a losing team.

Prediction:

Nevada has been a team that has played down to its competition at times, but the Wolf Pack have really owned Air Force. The Falcons are 2-8 against the spread in the last 10 meetings overall and 1-4 ATS in their last five games at Nevada. The Wolf Pack are a far stronger offense and the defense should be able to contain the Falcons at home. It’s a big spread to cover, but I will roll the dice with Nevada.

College Basketball Prediction: Nevada -21.5
