Cardinals slip past Panthers

Louisville secured a 73-68 overtime win Tuesday night at Pittsburgh to improve to 14-3 overall and 5-1 in Atlantic Coast Conference play. Jordan Nwora paced the Cardinals with 14 points on 5-of-13 shooting including 2-of-5 from 3-point distance plus 2-of-2 at the free throw line. He also tallied six rebounds and two blocked shots. Dwayne Sutton registered 13 points, nine boards and two blocks. David Johnson added 11 points, four assists and three caroms off the bench. Louisville outscored the Panthers 33-30 in the second half and 12-7 in the extra session.

Blue Devils upset by Clemson

Duke suffered a 79-72 defeat Tuesday night at Clemson to fall to 15-2 overall and 5-1 in conference action. The Blue Devils trailed 40-33 in the second half and were unable to recover. Vernon Carey Jr. paced Duke with 20 points on 8-of-14 shooting plus 4-of-9 at the free throw line. He also registered seven rebounds, two asissts and two steals. College Basketball Betting Trends

The Cardinals are 1-3-1 ATS in their last five games overall. Louisville is 2-6-1 ATS in its last nine Saturday games.

The Blue Devils are 5-2 ATS in their last seven Saturday games. The home team is 4-1-1 ATS in the last six meetings.

Duke has won all its home games by double digits this season aside from the puzzling loss to Stephen F. Austin. Coming off the defeat at Clemson, I expect a focused Blue Devils squad here. The Cardinals are talented enough to keep up for a while, but I expect the hosts to eventually assume control and pull away. With the home team dominating this series as of late in terms of ATS, I think the smarter play is on Duke.
